Gentlemen. Please be advised that a new tournament will take place to celebrate the ffwc 10th anniversary. An email will be sent soon to all club members with

What is the actual problem, John? Or is that what IBM are having trouble with?

Gentlemen. Allow me to announce that the FFWC 10th anniversary challenge tournament will commence on Oct 17 2009. We have 14 confirmed players and I am looking for one more. I have one on standby and if I can get another one to sign up I can match them up and have an even 16 which would
be ideal. The rules are on the tournament page here:
http://www.ffwcpg2.org/tournament/10thanniversary.htm Please read them! Any questions can be directed to me. The scenario is Zitadelle. SSI efile to be played using club settings. I have set a firm end date for round one of Christmas so all games should be completed by Dec 25th. That way we avoid a slow down over the holidays and can start round 2 in the new year. I will be sending an email to all participants to inform you of the start of the tournament and who your opponent is. The draw has been completed so here are the match ups: El Condoro vs Karhu Crusher vs Garoth Willinski vs Tacticus Panzer G vs Val Goldfinger vs Von Luck Clayballs vs Elefant Greven-Il-Vec vs Blackdog ?????? vs Mystery player Good luck to all!

Turn 7 done and the battle for Belgorod has swayed back and forth as Karhu uses human (and armoured) waves to try to break through. So far the Germans have
been able to beat off such tactics but a nest of Soviet armour has recently disappeared and could reappear at any point. A German kampfgruppe has headed north
and taken the centre VH (I'm sure it has a name but I can't remember it). There are many turns to go for either side to get the BV. Will the Germans
run out of steam first or has the Russian juggernaut's nose been sufficiently bloodied? Stay tuned...

Germans got a BV in this first round against Black Dog. It looks like his Russian peasants were looking at the map upside down and that caused a lot of
confusion inside the troops. Lots of peasants in tancks barely reached Belograd for counter-attack days after the battle was over...
In the mirror game, my peasants don't seem to understand a simple order like:''Stay there and don't move''... :-/ They all jump outside entrenchments to attack leader Tigers with their bare hands!! Katastrophen! But it's only turn 1. Hopefully they'll calm down after they're all killed... Or like I heard in a song: '' The soldiers were fed with balance diet. The dead will be in good health I believe....''

Germans got a last turn BV against Karhu. Turn 7 and my Russians also have trouble with a 'hold' order and have thrown themselves headlong against the
Rock of Belgorod. Meanwhile, German heavy tanks cause havoc...

"Sacre Bleu!"
I just got slapped around like a Rookie losing both sides of my match against Greven. (Hey, no wise cracks from the peanut gallery)! He doesn't seem to make any mistakes but quickly makes you pay for the slightest gaff in unit position or lack of protection of your troops. I only wish the game would have continued longer so I could learn more from an excellent player. Bring your "A" game fellas. BD |

The Greven-ator has struck again! Unfortunate that you drew him as the short straw, Blackdog. Good for me he is my 4-player partner.
If you want a game of anything BD, send me a turn. Cheers |

How are games going guys? Any reports of actions, plans or exciting battles? I'd love to hear how things are going - especially as the battles Karhu and I
had around Belgorod were so intense in our games. Let's know...

My games with Garoth are progressing at a good pace. My Germans have been held up nicely by his Russians and given a bloody nose or two. Still hopefull that I
can push through to his v-hexes eventually. In the other game my Russians are staging a big push for Belgorod and it looks like hand to hand fighting in the
streets where the last man standing wins. Fun stuff!
