Why are the SSI scenarios more popular than the FFWC ones in Round Robins?

I'm seeing the SSI Round Robins fill up fairly regularly but the FFWC scenario ones are stagnant. Why is it so?

I have some ideas on why but am interested in your ideas.

Von Luck and myself just finished a game of Wacht am Rhine, using normal club rules. We wonder if the game's unrealistic allowance of planes to fly in bad weather hurts its playability since Germans use their planes to scout ahead of their forces so they dont get ambushes, while US planes try and find where the enemy is mobilizing which takes away their sneak attack advantage. Gentlemen. Please be advised that a new tournament will take place to celebrate the ffwc 10th anniversary. An email will be sent soon to all club members with a form to fill out in order to enter the tournament. Tentative start date is Oct 15th and it will be a simple knockout tournament with SSI scenarios. Let's get as many players as possible to mark this historic anniversary.

New scenarios for testing

It is fantastic that there are scenarios being designed for PG2, which keeps the game fresh. You might be one of those who has a scenario 'out there' ready to be tested.

Scenarios that are to be given 'official' status at the FFWC go through the play test process to make sure they function correctly (not the same as checking whether they are 'balanced' - that's the designer's responsibility).

Sword - Gold - Juno Beach Challenge

OK .. to get some games going again I have time in the next couple of weeks to do final playtests of the Drive to the Sea remake scen I created. I can handle up to 4 concurrent non-mirrored games (2 as german and 2 as allied). It can be won by either side as the 2 earlier rounds of playtesting demonstrated. All games will be registered.

Also .... I am also looking for suggestions as to what to name the scen as it has gone thru many iterations and I have yet to come up with a name...

What was the first Tourney played at FFWC?

I've seen in archives that Anzio (From PG/Tony) was played in a tournament in 2001. Was it the first one? Thanks.
